Diego’s Umbrella Release Video For “Old Vienna” & Announce Headlining Tour Dates
Gypsy-rockers Diego’s Umbrella has released their Raymond Cinemato directed video for “Old Vienna” online at https://youtu.be/6rr4hpOB5Xk from their new album “Edjka”. The band will hit the road for a headlining tour June 28th in San Francisco, CA running throughout July.
“The idea for the ‘Old Vienna’ video came from director Raymond Cinemato, the captain of this ship. He heard the song and wrote the script for the video, we loved it and everybody just went to work. Vaughn basically took on the role of producer and Jekyns came on as choreographer,” commented vocalist Vaughn Lindstrom. “From there we added great actors, dancers, camera masters, make up, wardrobe, lighting, carpenters etc. So much talent and hard work went into this, we really couldn’t be more grateful and proud. So let’s break the bottle across the bough of this ship and set it to sea. Vienna is ready to go and we are loving it, hope you do too!”
Diego’s Umbrella is a 5-piece Gypsy-Rock band from San Francisco, CA. They combine violin, flamenco guitar, and 3-part harmonies with modern-rock sensibility and eastern European flavor. They have been performing for 12-years, toured nationally and internationally for 8 of those years and have garnered worldwide acclaim. The band has toured internationally many times over and performs nationally on a regular basis. The band has also been a featured performer at many major festivals including SXSW, BottleRock, Outside Lands, and High Sierra.

Diego’s Umbrella Announces Headlining Tour & New Album “Edjka” Set For Release on March 10th.

Gypsy-rockers Diego’s Umbrella has set March 10th 2017 as the release date for their fifth studio album, “Edjka” is set to release via Hardline Entertainment. The band will embark on a headlining tour starting with a 4-night stint at the legendary SXSW festival in Austin, TX.

“This is our best album to date. It is raw and emotional, the combination of years on the road, finely tuned craftsmanship and bold songwriting,” commented vocalist Vaughn Lindstrom. “What makes it even more exciting is that we’re teaming up with Hardline Entertainment for the release. This is going to be an great year for Diego’s Umbrella. “We’re really excited about all that’s in store. Killer new album, our live show is dialed, new label, new management… Let’s do this!”

Having spent the last two years touring, writing, and recording, the band has been stockpiling audience-tested material and focusing on calibrating a distinct flavor. Their soon to be released fifth studio album, Edjka is set to release March, 10th 2017 and includes the Diego’s staple of fast and furious gypsy rock, along with some new elements including cumbia beats, indie pop harmonies, and a celtic punk attitude (as delivered in their hit single “You’ll Never Take Us Down”.

There are two kinds of people in this world: those who love Diego’s Umbrella and those who don’t know them yet. Celebrated as San Francisco’s ambassadors of Gypsy Rock, these world-renowned entertainers have created an irresistible mélange that is entirely their own.

A Diego’s Umbrella show is a singular, ecstatic experience. One concert is all it takes to becoming a believer. Night after night they effortlessly blend eastern European sounds, marching drums, beautiful harmonies and catchy hooks with a showmanship that has all the fire and unpredictability of youth, marked by a chiseled refinement of years of experience on the road. 

The group’s uncanny gift for pleasing crowds, from standard clubs to huge festivals such as Outside Lands, Bottlerock and High Sierra, has earned them a zealous and ever-expanding following across the United States and Europe. Continuously touring abroad has always fed their aesthetic, and has resulted in incorporating the scales of klezmer, the strings of flamenco, and the energy of punk rock. 

  Their new material is some of the most exciting to date, tipping a hat to the raucous Croatian dance parties the band played in their early days while simultaneously crafting some of the best songs of their career. With a quest to fulfill and broadcast the true meaning of Gypsy Rock, Diego’s Umbrella is putting the final touches on their 5th full length album.
