Japanese Ska-Punk Band HEY-SMITH Joins Hardline!

[fblike] Hermosa Beach independent record label Hardline Entertainment is proud to welcome Japanese ska punk band HEY-SMITH to the label’s growing roster of bands that includes Authority Zero, Neo Geo, Nations Afire, The Darlings, Hoist The Colors, Death By Stereo, Versus The World among many others. The label has just released the bands 2010 studio full-length in the states titled “14-Fourteen”, which debuted on the Oricon indie chart at #6.

Hailing from Osaka, Japan, HEY-SMITH are an exciting ska punk band that meld a molotov-cocktail of punk rock, ska, reggae and metal for a unique sound that has everyone talking. HEY-SMITH performed live for the first time in 2006 and by the following year were already touring with bands’ like Authority Zero and Freygolo in Japan.

HEY-SMITH went on to perform at FUJI ROCK and on tours with Less Than Jake in Japan and released their long-awaited second studio album, Free Your Mind, in 2011, which reached #1 on the indie charts.  Later that year the band made their first U.S. appearance at The Fest in Gainesville, FL. Now known around the world, HEY-SMITH’s eclectic style and high-energy punk shows have helped the band build a global audience and In 2012, they found themselves back at FUJI Rock and later at RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL and finally opening for The Offspring in Japan.

AUTHORITY ZERO 2013 Canadian Crossover Tour!

Mesa, Arizona’s punk-rock-reggae band Authority Zero has announced they will be heading north for the “2013 Canadian Crossover Tour”, which kicks off in Winnipeg on September 24th and ends in Vancouver on October 3rd.
 
Authority Zero are currently touring in support of their recently released fifth studio album, The Tipping Point, which was produced by Cameron Webb (Pennywise, Social Distortion, Motorhead) at Maple Studios in Orange County.  The album melds an amalgam of punk rock, rock ‘n’ roll and reggae on twelve high-energy tracks like the “No Other Place” and “21st Century Breakout.”

Named one of Alternative Press’ “100 Bands You Need To Know” for 2013, Hoist The Colors is a seven piece melting pot of music and culture from Los Angeles.  Armed with mandolins, banjos, guitars, drums and fiddles, the band’s unique amalgam of punk rock, traditional Irish music, American folk and bluegrass is upbeat and refreshing.
 
Hoist the Colors got their start when singer/songwriter Josh Linden started learning Irish rebel songs and Pogues covers on a bunch of instruments they didn’t really even know how to play.  That was 2007.  Fast forward to 2013 and the band has two incredible albums, 2011’s “Second City” and 2012’s “Miles To Go Before We Sleep”, and has shared the stage with the likes of Ignite, Authority Zero, The English Beat, The Black Pacific, The Young Dubliners and many more.

”Pick Up The Pieces” is a song written about the domestic violence in our communities, in our neighborhood, in our homes,” vocalist Nik Hill tells Artist Direct.com.  “It is an isolating experience and the lyrics are meant to empower and shine a light on this issue, to prove that we cannot be broken by these things, by our pasts and more importantly to say something now, help each other get out of these violent surroundings. THE DARLINGS Japan Tour Announced!

The Darlings are dedicated to staying true to the roots of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Country and Americana. Founded in 2005 The Darlings have already hit the stage with such legendary acts as Pennywise, Social Distortion, Bad Religion, Youth Brigade, TSOL, Jason Cruz and Howl, Strung Out, Face to Face, Sum 41, and the Circle Jerks to just name a few. The Darlings are now set to embark on their first tour of Japan this July in support of their latest release “The New Escape”.

The greatest drive for the band is creating an Organic, Soulful, Hard Rock sound without relying on auto tune/ pro tools alterations. The New Escape is their full length debut, which has gotten a lot of attention in their native land of Los Angeles. The hit song “Broken Heart Still Beating” was #1 for many weeks on the world wide known radio station KROQ, Locals Only. This seasoned rock outfit won the 2010 Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands. April 9, 2013 – Los Angeles, CA – Hermosa Beach independent label Hardline Entertainment is proud to announce the signing of Southern California rock band Nations Afire.  The band will release their new full-length album, The Ghosts We Will Become, later this summer, but fans can check out the explosive video for the record’s title track now at http://youtu.be/HZbKuazDDPg.
Nations Afire is a four-piece rock band that features an impressive lineup of current and former members of some of SoCal’s hardest hitting bands of the last decade.  Guitarist Chris Chasse has an impressive resume that includes a tenure with Rise Against (Siren Song of the Counter Culture ‘04 and The Sufferer & the Witness ’06).  Vocalist/guitarist Nik Hill and bassist Brett Rasmussen are both long standing members of the Orange County hardcore outfit Ignite and drummer Todd Hennig was the percussive force behind Death By Stereo for three albums.
The band stirred up excitement from fans in 2012 when they released a few songs from the upcoming album, which eventually led them to sign with Hardline Entertainment in the spring of 2013.
“We at Hardline are very excited to have the opportunity to release the Nations Afire record,” says Hardline label founder Ken Seaton.  “I have known the guys in the band for many years through their previous projects and have always been a fan of their music. This record The Ghosts We Will Becomeis a perfect blend of Punk, Hardcore and Rock that is still very accessible for radio the mainstream audience”.
“Putting this album out with Hardline is the best case scenario for us,” adds Rasmussen.  “Not only are we working with people we know and absolutely trust, but we are joining a roster of bands that are friends of ours, it’s the perfect situation.
