Southern California is known best for its mild weather, beautiful beaches and sun-kissed celebrities, but it’s no secret that the region is a perpetual hot-bed for producing some of the world’s hottest musicians and bands as well.  From Katy Perry and Gwen Steffani to Maroon 5 and Blink 182, the talent has long run deep throughout the region.  Which brings us to pop music’s latest phenomenon coming out of Orange County, NEO GEO.

Formed in 2008, the upstart five-piece from Fullerton, CA has been making waves with their uniquely refreshing infusion of electronic, pop-rock and pop-punk for the last several years.  Led by the stunningly talented songstress Rainy Terrell and keyboardist Ryan Walter, NEO GEO, which means new earth, were named for the band’s eclectic attitude towards their sound and their member’s diverse backgrounds and musical influences.

NEO GEO spent their beginning years building a steady fanbase throughout Southern California and across the country on tours like the Vans Warped Tour, which eventually led them to work with Grammy Award-winning producer Cameron Webb on their self-titled debut album that was released in 2011 with their label Hardline Entertainment.  The album was very well received by critics and fans and NEO GEO became regulars on LA’s legendary KROQ’s “Locals Only” show and gained support nationally through MTVU.

By 2013, NEO GEO had amassed an impressive following and returned to the studio to record their second full length album titled Digital DNA to be released through Hardline Entertainment in the fall of 2013.

Digital DNA showcases the band’s vast growth as musicians and songwriters as well as their unwavering determination to become pop’s next breakout success.  Rainy says the upcoming record “will be something new and different and yet something with a familiar feeling to the fans that renews their affinity with NEO GEO music”.
